We are excited to announce the appointment of Luke Van Der Mark as our new Director of Operations, effective November 15, 2024. With over 17 years of management experience in the aviation and airport operations industry, Luke brings a wealth of expertise that will be instrumental in driving our operations forward.
Luke’s aviation career began in 2004, and since then, he has held a variety of roles across both operational and management functions.
His career highlights include:
- Airport Manager at Brampton-Caledon Airport (2007-2012), where he gained invaluable experience in managing airport operations and staff.
- Managing the Porter FBO at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport before relocating to Windsor.
- Serving as Manager of Operations at Windsor Airport since 2016, where he has led several major projects, including the rehabilitation of the secondary runway, the construction of a large FBO, and two significant hangar expansions.
- Luke was also instrumental in implementing the Vortex Complete Management System at Windsor Airport, streamlining project management and documentation processes with embedded quality improvement measures.
Luke holds an Advanced Diploma in Aviation Management from Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology and is a licensed Private Pilot with Night Rating. He is also an active member of the AMCO Board, serving as the Southwest Regional Director.
In his new role, Luke will oversee all operational aspects of the company, focusing on optimizing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring our operations continue to meet the highest standards. His extensive experience in managing complex airport operations and projects will be an invaluable asset as we continue to grow and evolve.

YQG Offers Direct Flights To Numerous Sunny Destinations!
Travellers can now enjoy direct flights from YQG – Windsor International Airport during the winter months, basking in the warmth and sunshine of Florida, Cuba, and Mexico. Passengers can book weekly flights to/from YQG with Sunwing and Flair Airlines.

There is great news for people looking to continue to fly direct to Montreal and Halifax out of Windsor International Airport. Flair Airlines, Canada’s everyday low fare airline, has announced they will continue to offer their twice weekly direct Windsor-Montreal service uninterrupted into 2023.
The Montreal flights will be joined by the direct Windsor-Tucson, Arizona, flight, which will run from December 1, 2022 until March 23, 2023, and the twice weekly direct Windsor-Halifax service commencing June 9, 2023.
“We want to keep bringing those low fares to Windsor, year in and year out,” said Garth Lund, Flair’s Chief Commercial Officer.
Mayor and YQG Board Chair Drew Dilkens welcomed the announcement: “It’s exciting news for Windsor and the surrounding region. We see this as just the beginning.”
